Feeder load is Motor

The asynchronous motor or induction motors or squirel-cage motors is the basic electric motor that converts electrical power into mechanical.
The rated output of the motor in kW is the key element of interest to the electrician because it will design the engine line.
Output power is the mechanical power that the engine delivers on its shaft.
The absorbed electrical power is always greater.

The motors manufacturers give us

  • full current
  • full load
The basic engine properties are taken from the Engine Library

Motor load

In the circuits grid with the loads of the Low Voltage Electrical Panel:
  • In Load type load we choose Motor
  • The Motor button is displayed
  • Click the Motor button
  • The Select Motor Properties dialog box appears

Motor properties from Library

We start by selecting the number of engine phases and automatically the rated voltage U n :
  • for single-phase, U n = 230 V
  • for three-phase, U n = 400 V
Checking Get Motor from Library shows the Motor Library frame.
From the pop-up list we select the output power of the motor in kW and see the other properties
  • horsepower output (hp)
  • full load current (FLA)
  • power factor (cosφ) at full load
  • efficiency
In practice, this means we cannot change the kW, syn and Ib of the motor as in other loads.
To change the kW of a motor connected to a motor from the Library we need to call this form again.
